Walking By Faith
We love music. Debbie sings everyday and every evening. We both play the piano and love several kinds of music. One of my favorite gospel singers is Mahalia Jackson. As I think over the last 30 years working in Wisconsin and Michigan U.P. area, I realize that on of her gospel song is quite appropriate. "Without God I could do nothing." This is what I mean by walking by faith."
I have been blessed throughout all these years in so many ways. And most of all, I realize that God has been inspiring us and keeping our spirit,"Alive" through many losses, disappointments, and challenges. But in the middle of this is as Mahalia would sing, "His eye is on the sparrow. I know God is watching over you and me" Thank you Lord.
I began serving our communities in 1978, however, the current private office location was purchased in 2002. We converted a residential home into a full-time office located a few doors from our home. "Debbie's creative work put together a beautiful, relaxing and peaceful setting for guests, clients, families and employees. Without Debbie's contributions to the business, we would not have it's sensitivity, beauty and charm." This is a family-owned business.
Every week we hear clients/guests remark, "This office is so peaceful here!" "I feel better just walking in." Both Debbie and I feel providing such a place is very helpful to the healing process.
Debbie Garcia works part-time as an office assistant along with our children Angela and Aaron.
Loving Others
We love people. We love children and Debbie gets absolutely thrilled when she sees an infant child. Through our faith and hope, we love others. This is our calling and work. To help others and to help in the healing process. Thank you, Lord.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
We find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) very effective, brief and helpful. I received my training from Aldo Pucci, MA, DCBT, the originator of Rational Living Therapy and President of the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists.
I am also trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), trained by the originator, Dr. Richard Schwartz, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. (originator and founder of IFS)
I will also use Brief Systematic Family Therapy. I received my training from Joel Bergman, Chicago, IL.

"Attachment Parenting" by Dr.Jim Sears, MD.
Attachment is a special bond between parent and child; a feeling that draws you magnet-like to your baby; a relationship that when felt to its deepest degree causes the mother to feel that the baby is a part of her. This feeling is so strong that, at least in the early months, the attached mother feels complete when she is with her baby and incomplete if they are apart.
Love and Logic, JIm Fay,
Love and Logic is a philosophy of raising and teaching children which allows adults to be happier, empowered, and more skilled in the interactions with children. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows children to live with the consequences of their choices. Love and Logic is a way of working with children that puts parents and teachers back in control, teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences.
"My vision is that all children are raised lovingly and non-violently and with discipline that motivates them through love, not through fear. When children go through the challenges of childhood with loving, kind and firm guidance they are able to develop their full potential and follow their dreams."
- Deborah Critzer-Fox, Positive Parenting
